Description
- Perennial
- Asian Plantain is native to China.
- It is an evergreen perennial with a basal rosette of long-stalked, ovate, deeply veined leaves, to 15cm. long.
- Minute green flowers are borne in spikes, to 50cm long, in summer, followed by capsules containing 4-9 dark brown seeds.
- It is fully hardy and grow in sun.

Medicinal Uses. It is said that
- Asian Plantain is used internally for acute infections of the lungs and urinary tract, hepatitis and boils (wholer plant);
- diarrhoea, urinaty complaints, coughs with profuse phlegm, conjunctivitis, and vertigo (seeds).
