- Witsa is a very prolific pole snap bean.
- This heirloom bean is a South African bean developed in 1951 from a cross between 'Green Savage' and 'St. Louis Perfection'.
- It is a very long, tender podded, stringless bean with good disease resistance and outstanding productivity.
- Witsa is also very tender with a low fiber content.
- It is great tasting, high yielding and long-lived.
- A strong climber and trellished very easily.
- Identifying true Witsa: white flowers, unremarkable white seeds and pod size can get up to the diameter of a disposable plate.
Culinary Uses
- Witsa can be cooked as an accompaniment to meat and other dishes.
- It can be served cold in salads or stirfried with other vegetables.
- Witsa freeze well - and should be used within 12 months.
